1. After unscrewing the protective screw, open the battery compartment door.
2. Insert two AA batteries into the bottom of the battery compartment as instructed.
3. Put back the protective screw.
4. Lift the objective lens up as far as possible with the coarse adjustment.
5. Place the slide containing the tissue or organism you wish to observe on the platform. Secure it under the clips of the two platforms.
6. Turn on the LED light.
7. Adjust the focus with the coarse adjuster and gently rotate the eyepiece to suit your vision. Gently turn the eyepiece to suit your vision.
8. Adjust the light intensity with the light control button. Too much light can overwhelm.
